Shaking hands with Col. Michele Cook, commanding officer of Regional Joint Training Facility, a student from the Military Intelligence Non-commissioned Officer Course- Africa II receives his diploma upon graduating the seven-week course. Other key leaders present for graduation were Col. Douglas Fairfield, chief of staff, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Africa, Lt. Col. Sekou S. Karega, Marine attache to U.S. Embassy of Senegal, and Sgt. Maj. James J. McCook, command sergeant major, Marine Forces Africa. MINOC-A II, a seven-week course that was held here, is the first iteration of the course on the continent of Africa and enhances capacity for intelligence skills and techniques while providing a combined-forces environment to promote collaboration methods with the region’s military-intelligence community. Countries that participated in MINOC-A II include the nations of Algeria, Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, Tunisia, Senegal, Canada and the U.S.
