Information Systems Technician 2nd Class Reed B. Parker from Charlotte, North Carolina, assigned to CS1 division in combat systems department aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73), participates in a general quarters drill aboard the ship in Newport News, Virginia, March. 29, 2023. George Washington is conducting a simulated underway to validate shipboard habitability and operational services to ensure the ship meets the final refueling and complex overhaul (RCOH) milestones. RCOH is a multi-year project performed only once during a carrier's 50-year service life that includes refueling the ship's two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repairs, upgrades, and modernization.
