Dr. David Rudd, director of Rudd Institute for Veterans/Military Suicide Prevention, presents a brief about resiliency regarding suicide prevention to Marines of I MEF, during a Professional Leaders Conference at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center in Carlsbad, California, March 28, 2023. During the conference, approximately 150 sergeants and staff sergeants participated in group focused case studies, workshops, and discussions centered on troop welfare. The purpose of the conference was to better prepare and increase understanding in small unit leaders about the human factors and behaviors that may be indicative of mental health issues and suicidal ideation.
