Col. Jeffery Shaw, the 163d Operations Group Commander assigned to the 163d Attack Wing bids farewell to the Wing’s Airnmen aboard a C-17 Globemaster assigned to the 167th Airlift Wing from the West Virginia Air National Guard at March Air Reserve Base in California on April 1st, 2023 before they are transported to Exercise Balikatan in the Philippines. The 163d will lead the way as part of the first large-scale integration of an unmanned platform into Philippine Air Space. They will work shoulder to shoulder with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to provide Intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, maritime domain awareness and simulated offensive air support for the exercise.
