Captain Kimberly Toone, commanding officer Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC) arrives at Aviation Survival Training Command (ASTC) Jacksonville for a tour of the facilities and construction projects currently underway to update and modernize the facility under her command. ASTC JAX is one of eight ASTC training facilities that are encompassed by the Naval Aviation Survival Training Institute (NSTI). NSTI, a detachment of NMOTC, specializes in training the pilots, aircrew, and service members who support other specialized communities in survival skills and technique to survive aviation emergencies.
Students and service members who complete training and courses will be equipped, with an understanding of stressors placed on the body, the rigors of egress and techniques for survival in situations of hostile and austere environments. Navy Medicine Operational Training Command (NMOTC)
