The Lauchheimer Trophy, established by U.S. Marine Corps General Lauchheimer who captained the first Marine team to enter the rifle competition, is awarded to the competitor attaining the highest aggregate score of the Individual Rifle Match and the Individual Pistol Match of the Marine Corps Championships during the awards ceremony on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, April 4, 2023. Marines who demonstrate maturity, professionalism, and exceptional marksmanship talent at the Marine Corps Championships receive an invitation from the team captain of the Marine Corps Shooting Team to serve as a summer augment.
