NAS NORTH ISLAND, Calif. (Feb. 15, 2023) – Lt. Reagan G. Stromback, native of Chandler, Arizona, takes a group of eight Navy ensigns on a tour of her 'office', the Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron SEVEN ONE (HSM 71) “Raptors”. As the squadron Public Affairs Officer, Stromback answered questions about the training they will soon receive and about the helicopter she flies, the MH-60R (Romeo) which is designed to operate from littoral combat ships, frigates, destroyers, cruisers, and aircraft carriers to providing Command Control and Communications, assisting with Anti-Submarine Warfare, Surface Warfare, Electronic Warfare, Mobility, and Search and Rescue missions. The ensigns are participating in the Officer Hometown Area Recruiting Program (OHARP) at Navy Talent Acquisition Group (NTAG) Southwest while waiting to begin the Primary phase of training at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. Each ensign will travel along one of the six Student Naval Aviator training pipelines - Strike, Rotary, Maritime, Tilt-rotor, E-2/C-2, and E-6, on their road to become Naval aviators.
