Corporal Bernard Vu, field radio operator, 2nd Platoon, Battery B, Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is promoted from lance corporal during a promotion ceremony on the flight deck of the USS Rushmore, Nov. 1. The 15th MEU is deployed with the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility. Vu, 20, is from Lincoln, Neb.
