U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Greg Otake, a bioenvironmental engineering specialist assigned to Joint Task Force-Red Hill (JTF-RH), records observations of spill response actions from a control center on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, during a Apr. 6, 2023 spill response training exercise conducted by JTF-RH. JTF-RH is in phase three of its five-phase defueling plan. Personnel are focused on completing repairs, quality control tasks, training, response preparation, the National Environmental Policy Act Environmental Assessment, regulatory approvals and operational planning for such things as dewatering, repacking, and defueling.
