PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 28, 2022) - U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 362 (Rein.), 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit, attach a hoist hook to an engine of a UH-1Y Venom aboard amphibious transport dock USS Anchorage (LPD 23) Nov. 28. A force in readiness, the aircraft maintainers of the 13th MEU keep aircraft in operation in order to rapidly to respond to crisis across all domains. The 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit is embarked on the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, comprised of amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8) and amphibious transport dock ships USS Anchorage (LPD 23) and USS John P. Murtha (LPD 26), and operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with Allies and partners and serve as a ready-response force to defend peace and maintain stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
