NAVAL BASE SAN DIEGO (Apr. 7, 2023) – Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Hugh Jones, center, and Boatswain’s Mate 1st Class Aaron Walker, right, assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4), help guide a life raft, hoisted by crane, to be installed in its housing over the side of the ship. Life rafts are removed, inspected and re-certified every five years, then re-installed over the side of the ship to meet safety standards for getting underway.
