U.S. Army Maj. Eric P. Ng, operations officer for 65th Brigade Engineer Battalion, briefs Maj. Gen. Andres Centino, chief of staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, the Road to Drop Zone engineering project on Fort Magsaysay, April 14 2023. The project will create a route between the Special Forces compound’s main road and DZ Vulcan, allowing Philippine Army soldiers easier and quicker access to the DZ.
Balikatan is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
