U.S. service members with the joint forces land component command prepare for a command post exercise with the Armed Forces of the Philippines for exercise Balikatan 23 at Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines, April 13, 2023. JFLCC represents all land forces during the Balikatan 23 command post exercise. Balikatan 23, the 38th iteration of the annual bilateral exercise, included a bilateral command post exercise that strengthened the Allies’ ability to plan, coordinate and provide command and control of maneuver forces in a contested battlespace. Exercises such as Balikatan increase our ability to work together across the spectrum of military operations to respond to crises, support the local population and accomplish our shared mission.
