19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) Airborne Operation

A U.S. Army Paratrooper assigned to the 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Utah Army National Guard, carries his parachute off the drop zone after performing a static-line jump from a C-130 Hercules turboprop military transport aircraft from the 165th Airlift Wing, Georgia Air Guard on Feb. 25, 2023, near Camp Williams, Utah. A static-line jump is where a cord is attached at one end to the aircraft while the other end is attached to the top of the jumper's chute. When the parachutist “jumps” from the aircraft, it causes the static line to become tight and pulls the parachute out of the container on the jumper’s back. (Utah Army National Guard photo by Spc.
