U.S. Air National Guard Aircrew Flight Equipment specialists assigned to the 148th Fighter Wing, Minnesota Air National Guard, install a drogue parachute in a F-16 Fighting Falcon ACES 2 ejection seat at the Duluth, Minn., Air National Guard Base on Apr. 19, 2023. A drogue parachute is used to slow and control the decent of a pilot in their seat before the parachute attached to their harness is deployed. From packing emergency items like parachutes and survival kits to maintaining regularly used items like flight helmets and oxygen masks. Aircrew Flight Equipment specialists ensure pilots have the necessary supplies to complete and survive a mission. (U.S. Air National Guard Photo by Airman 1st Class Tylin Rust)
