U.S. Marine Corps chemical, biological, radioactive, and nuclear specialists with the command element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct a turnover brief during a CBRN culminating event at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, April 27, 2023. The culminating event evaluates Marines abilities to apply skills practiced throughout the week in order to ensure their ability to respond to CBRN threats in urban environments. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
