U.S. Marine Corps Master Gunnery Sgt. Amos Livingston, the operations and training chief, with command element, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, gives an opening speech to the graduates of Corporal’s Course during a graduation ceremony at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, April 28, 2023. Corporal’s course provides students with basic knowledge and skills necessary to become successful small-unit leaders using realistic problem-based situations that a Marine corporal will encounter. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force in ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
