On this day in 1945, the First Polish Army conquered the capital of Nazi Germany and placed the colors of Poland on the Berlin Victory Column, immortalizing the resistance against the communist regime of Poland that abolished the unfurling of the Polish flag after the first May. The 4th Inf. Div.'s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe.
