Senior Airman Jared Brotsky, of the West Virginia Air National Guard's 130th Civil Engineer Squadron, and Sgt. 1st Class Marty Newman, 3664th Maintenance Co., WVARNG inspect the electrical components for a boiler in the basement of an apartment complex in Queens, N.Y. The basement flooded after Sandy pounded the coast, sending more than seven feet of water into it. The boiler provides heat and water to 23 other buildings that are home to approximately 600 people each. The two service members are part of a small team sent from W.Va. to assist with generator assessment and repair in New York as part of the recovery efforts. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
