Members of a local Zama City fire department work together to put their handmade kite into the air during the Sagamihara ‘Giant Kite festival,’ May 4th, 2023. This was the first time the festival was held in over 3 years, due to the spread of the coronavirus, and in commemoration of hosting the event again, the theme for this year’s iteration was 勝風 (shoufu), or unyielding spirit.
