My mother is the most amazing person I know. She had to be the best of a billion people to emigrate from India to the US in the mid-70's. She was the first female to complete her residency in Ophthalmology at SUNY Buffalo, a traditionally male-dominated field. She's been practicing medicine for over 45 years and helped countless people through her compassion, empathy and understanding. Additionally, she's an awesome mom! She'll listen, give advice when it’s needed, and a kick in the butt when it’s warranted. She's the wisest person I know, and her voice is always in my head reminding me of what’s right vs wrong. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for my mom. I love her, am so grateful she’s in my life, and probably need to call her more often to tell her that.
