U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Julie Littell, Cpl. Santiago Gutierrez-Ibanez and Cpl. Joe Martin answer questions from teachers visiting the station as part of the 2023 Marine Corps Educators’ Workshop at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, San Diego, California, May 4, 2023. Littel, a native of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, is an aviation operations specialist with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron-323, Marine Aircraft Group-11, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. Gutierrez-Ibanez, a native of San Ysidro, California, and Martin, a native of Santa Ana, California, are administrative specialists with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Miramar. The Educators’ Workshop gives high school teachers an opportunity to witness recruit training and interact with Marines stationed at three installations in California during a five-day all-expense paid trip. While visiting Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, MCAS Miramar and Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, the teachers gain knowledge that they can share with high school students interested in Marine Corps Service.
