Lt. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV speaks to Fort Sam Houston and San Antonio community members Nov. 7 during the Fort Sam Houston Vietnam Veterans’ 50th Anniversary Welcome Home Ceremony at the Staff Post Parade Field. Those in attendance gathered to thank and honor Vietnam War veterans and their families for their service to the nation. Following the ceremony, they formed a “Corridor of Thanks” as the Vietnam veterans walked through the corridor en route to Fort Sam Houston’s historic Quadrangle for a reception in their honor. Caldwell is the commanding general of U.S. Army North (Fifth Army) and senior commander of Fort Sam Houston and Camp Bullis.
