Lt. Cmdr. Lan-Anh Tran, a psychiatrist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s behavioral mental health clinic, talks with Lt. Cmdr. Joel Snider about a patient schedule. Tran holds a doctor of osteopathy degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine. A native of Washington, D.C., Tran says, “As a psychiatrist, I provide direct patient care to active duty service members through individual and group therapy, crisis stabilization, and medication management for both inpatient and outpatient services. In addition, I serve as the region's behavioral health convening authority to determine medical readiness and liaison with commands within the Jacksonville Market to support our mission.” May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Mental health is vital to the well-being of all patients, and readiness of our military forces. For positive mental health: maintain good physical health, tap into spiritual health, and seek help when needed. #FacesofNHJax #MentalHealthMonth
