A U.S. Marine Corps Water Survival School instructor instructs recruit Dante Covert with Delta Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, before a swim qualification at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) San Diego, May 15, 2023. Recruits at MCRD San Diego had to pass the swim qualification which consisted of different tests such as floating, learning different swim strokes, and jumping from platforms of varied heights in order to continue their training toward becoming U.S. Marines.
