U.S. Army Soldiers, with the 2nd Battalion, 59th Aviation Troop Command, South Carolina National Guard, conduct MEDEVAC training with the Prisma Health Emergency Department (ED), at multiple locations in upstate South Carolina, May 10-11, 2023. The training exercise included MEDEVAC and aeromedical intensive care scenarios originating from the South Carolina National Guard Army Aviation Support Facility #2, in Greenville, South Carolina, with the airlift of notional patients from the Lake Keowee Fire Department to the Greenville Memorial Hospital. The exercise displayed the South Carolina Army National Guard’s capabilities to perform aeromedical intensive care and strengthened partnerships with civilian emergency response agencies. The exercise included soldiers and equipment from Detachment 2, Company C “Dustoff,” 2-238th Aviation Regiment, General Support Battalion (GSAB), as well as elements of the 1-111th Aviation Regiment, General Support Battalion (GSAB), all flying on UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters.
