In the image, Commander Task Group (CTG) 154.64 in position for the Photex of FORMIDABLE SHIELD 2023. CTG 154.64 is composed of 3 Spanish frigates, 2 Dutch frigates, 1 Danish frigate, 1 Norwegian frigate, 2 American frigates, 2 British frigates, 1 Italian frigate and 2 French frigates: Blas De Lezo, Alvaro De Bazan, Patino, Tromp, Van Amstel, Esbern Snare, Roald Amundsen, Oscar Austin, Porter, Kent, Defender, Carlo Margottini, Chevalier Paul and Bretagne.
Combined missile defense exercise Formidable Shield 2023 (FS 23) takes place in the North Atlantic off the coast of Scotland from May 8-26, 2023. Hosted by Commander US Navy 6th Fleet (C6F) and led by NATO (STRIKFORNATO – SFN). This training takes place within the framework of the Maritime Theater Missile Defense (MTMD1) forum.
