Poolees with U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Raleigh participate in an initial strength test (IST) during a state-side pool function in Raleigh, North Carolina on May 13, 2023. The IST tests a poolees physical fitness to gauge their readiness for recruit training. The event was led by recruiters and drill instructors to prepare poolees mentally and physically for the rigors of Marine Corps boot camp.
