SAN DIEGO (May 18, 2023) Rear Adm. Kevin Lenox, commander, Carrier Strike Group 3, presents a Legion of Merit to Capt. Amy N. Bauernschmidt, outgoing commanding officer of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) during a change of command ceremony. During the ceremony, Capt. Peter J. Riebe relieved Capt. Amy N. Bauernschmidt as Abraham Lincoln’s commanding officer. Abraham Lincoln is currently moored pierside at Naval Air Station North Island.
