U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit attend a Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) hazard class during a scenario-based training at Guardian Centers in Perry, Georgia, May 15, 2023. The purpose of the scenario-based training is to prepare CBRN specialists with the capabilities to provide aid, respond to and remove a chemical or biological threat such as weapons of mass destruction incidents, spills or fires involving hazardous materials, or accidents involving hazardous material. CBRN Specialist are responsible for conducting training in CBRN defense monitoring, surveying and reconnaissance, providing chemical detection and identification, gather biological agent collection and sampling, decontamination of military personnel, equipment and casualties and execute protective measures and first aid to unit personnel.
