230512-N-LK647-1146 ATLANTIC OCEAN (May 12, 2023) An MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the “Tridents” of Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 9 (HSC 9), takes off from the first-in-class aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) as it prepares to conduct a vertical replenishment with the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60), May 12, 2023. Normandy is part of the Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group and is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet to defend U.S., allied, and partner interests.
