JTF-ES, a tenant unit located on Hamilton, is the state's standing military organization jointly staffed with Army and Air National Guard personnel, New York Naval Militia members, and New York Guard members, plans and prepares for defense support to civil authority missions in the New York City area.
JTF-ES service members play a crucial role in augmenting the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Police at Penn Station, Grand Central Station, the Port Authority of New York, and New Jersey Police Department (PAPD) at JFK and LaGuardia Airports, the New York State Police, and the Tunnel Bridge and Toll Authority (TBTA) at various bridges and tunnels throughout New York City.
