Jershon Hernandez, the youngest Marine present, takes a bite of cake during a celebration of the Marine Corps’ 237th birthday at Forward Operating Base Sabit Qadam, Afghanistan, Nov. 10, 2012. During the cake cutting ceremony the oldest Marine, Master Gunnery Sgt. Ricardo Hernandez, center, was presented with the first slice of cake and passed it on to the youngest Marine, signifying the passing of experience and knowledge from the old to the young of our Corps.
