On April 27, 2023, Texas National Guard Joint Counterdrug Task Force Drug Demand Reduction Outreach (DDRO) Task Force and Region West Task Force Members partnered with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the New Mexico Counterdrug DDRO and Counterdrug Aviation Element (CDAE) to speak to the children of local law enforcement partners to promote awareness of the negative affects of drug use and abuse in the community. Task Force Members worked closely with an event coordinator to procure interactive equipment/games, set up static aviation display of CDAE’s UH-72 Lakota helicopter, and shared Texas and New Mexico’s Counterdrug capabilities to other Federal, State and local law enforcement agencies in order to bolster current partnerships.
