U.S. Army Spc. Jeremy Mote, an all-wheel vehicle mechanic with the 903rd Medical Detachment operating out of Chessy Park, Illinois, is loaded into a Tunisian Blackhawk helicopter as part of a medical evacuation exercise during exercise African Lion 23 in Ben Ghilouf, Tunisia, May 22, 2023. Mote, hailing from Glendale Heights, Illinois, volunteered to act as a simulated casualty to support the exercise between the U.S. and Tunisian forces. 18 nations and approximately 8,000 personnel wil participate in African Lion 2023, U.S. Africa Command's largest annual combined, joint exercise that will take place in Ghana, Morocco, Senegal and Tunisia from May 13-June 18, 2023.
