ESGR (Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve) is a Department of Defense agency that was formed in 1972 to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component service members and civilian employers. The Adjutant General of Texas is the senior military official appointed by the Texas Governor and commands the Texas Military Forces, which is comprised of the Adjutant General's Department, the Texas Army National Guard, the Texas Air National Guard, the Texas State Guard and the Domestic Operations Command.
