ALBANIA, May 23, 2023 –Pfc. Lirjion Berisha, Kosovo Security Force Hazmat Company and Cpl. Fitim Hyseni, with the Kosovo Security Force Hazmat Company demonstrates how to properly dawn Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) under the guidance of the New Jersey Army National Guard, 50th Chemical Company during their annual training. Conducted on the Albanian Armed Force Complex, as part of Defender Europe 2023. The New Jersey Army National Guard and Albania Army maintain critical capabilities and enhance interoperability through funding and capabilities that support increased readiness to deter potential adversaries by maintaining highly trained forces. DEFENDER 23 is a U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) joint exercise designed to enable combat-ready, multinational forces. DEFENDER 23 demonstrates USAREUR-AF’s ability to aggregate U.S.-based combat power quickly in Eastern Europe, increase lethality of the NATO alliance, build unit readiness in a complex, joint, multinational environment, and leverage host nation capabilities to increase USAREUR-AF’s operational reach.
