CAMP H.M. SMITH, Hawaii (May 25, 2023) Adm. John C. Aquilino, Commander U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, and Fleet Master Chief David Isom, Command Senior Enlisted Leader at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, service members, and civilians observe colors before a Memorial Day and relic dedication ceremony at USINDOPACOM headquarters. Made by sailors, soldiers, airmen, guardians and Marines, the relic includes steel from the battleship USS Arizona (BB-39) and teak decking from the battleship USS Missouri (BB-63), and it aims to connect service members and civilians to the service and sacrifice of those who came before them while also highlighting the beginning and end of WWII in the Pacific.
