Volunteers from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Far East District visited Central Elementary School to teach 800 students about STEM on Camp Humphreys, South Korea. The volunteers set up six hands-on activities for the kids to rotate through, learning everything from bridge design to the strength of shapes to how laser thermometers work. When asked their favorite station, the kids pointed at all of them and talked about more experiments that they want to try.

“Events like these ensure we can expose students early to STEM, inspiring the next generation to pursue careers where they can tackle future challenges that we have not uncovered yet.” – COL Levy, district commander

It's amazing what we can achieve when we share our passion for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics with young people - getting them engaged and encouraging them to pursue their dreams. (U.S. Army photo by Rachel Napolitan)
