Maj. Gen. Thomas Carden, adjutant general of the Georgia Department of Defense, pays his honors to the burial flag and Story’s niece, Judy Wade, during the full military honors graveside ceremony at the Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Georgia, on May 29, 2023. Story was killed in action during the Korean War and was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. Carden presented Wade with the Purple Heart for Story's heroic sacrifice during the memorial service.
