ANCHORAGE, Alaska (May 6, 2023) Commanding officer Commander Gabriel Burgi of landing dock ship, USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), joins a tour of the ship for Naval Reserve Center (NRC) Anchorage sailors May 6, 2023, before the ship goes underway in support of Exercise Northern Edge 2023 (NE23-1). NE23-1 is one in a series of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercises designed to sharpen the joint forces’ skills; to practice tactics, techniques and procedures; to improve command, control and communication relationships; and to develop cooperative plans and programs.
