U.S. Marines assigned to 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, II Marine Expeditionary Force, conduct tactical recovery and field care of a simulated injured person during a simulated mass casualty training event at Guardian Center, Perry, Georgia, May 27, 2023. The event took place after a simulated building collapse, including debris and props such as fog machines, burning cars and scattered furniture used for realism as part of 26th MEU’s Special Operations Capable Certification. Expeditionary Operations Training Group organized C2X as the culminating exercise in the 26th MEU’s pre-deployment training program, ensuring they are ready to respond as a forward-deployed, sea-based MAGTF, capable of conducting amphibious operations as a crisis-response force-in-readiness and able to conduct contingency operations across the full spectrum of military operations.
