CAMP LEMONNIER, Djibouti (May 21, 2023) U.S. service members participated in a Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration at Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti, May 21. Each May, CLDJ recognizes the historical achievements and contributions Asian American and Pacific Islanders have made to society and U.S. military. CLDJ is an operational installation that enables U.S., allied, and partner nation forces to be where and when they are needed to ensure security in Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia. The base enables maritime and combat operations in the Horn of Africa while fostering positive U.S.-Africa relations. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Rion Codrington)
