The initial U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Emergency Response Team deploys after Typhoon Mawar May 26 from Hickam Air Force Base, Hawaii. Lt. Col Ryan Pevey, Honolulu District Commander and USACE Incident Commander led the Response Team. Mission experts include a Temporary Emergency Power Planning and Response Team from Memphis District Corps of Engineers, soldiers from 249th Engineer Battalion - Prime Power, a Temporary Roofing Planning Cell, and the Debris Response Team Management Cell. The Emergency Response Team’s number one priority continues to be the life, health, and safety of all who are affected by Typhoon Mawar. Elements from the American Red Cross were also aboard the C-17.
