Recruits compete in Damage Control (DC) Olympics at Freedom Hall onboard Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Illinois. This event consists of pull-ups, weighted line heaving, sea bag relay, rescue carry relay, basketball, and a self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) relay. Boot camp is approximately 10 weeks and all enlistees into the U.S. Navy begin their careers at the command. More than 40,000 recruits train annually at the Navy’s only boot camp.
