ANCHORAGE, Alaska (May 7, 2023) U.S. Navy sailors raise and steady a rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) as they prepare to lower it onto the platform onboard landing dock ship, USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49), as the ship goes underway in support of Exercise Northern Edge 2023 (NE23-1). NE23-1 is one in a series of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command exercises designed to sharpen the joint forces’ skills; to practice tactics, techniques and procedures; to improve command, control and communication relationships; and to develop cooperative plans and programs.
