230418-N-EU502-1060 PACIFIC OCEAN (April 18, 2023) - Cmdr. Charles Jones, executive officer of guided-missile cruiser USS Mobile Bay (CG 53), observes guided-missile destroyer USS William P. Lawrence (DDG 110) as it transits the Pacific Ocean following a personnel transfer, April 18, 2023. Mobile Bay is underway with the Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group conducting Group Sail, which demonstrates the ability to rapidly aggregate the strike group units and provides an opportunity to conduct progress training to enhance levels of excellence and increase lethality and tactical proficiency of U.S. Navy units operating in the 3rd Fleet area of operation.
