The Delaware Army National Guard appoints Brig. Gen. James Benson as the new Assistant Adjutant General, June 3, 2023 at the Army Aviation Support Facility, Del. Benson assumed command from Brig. Gen. Carl Danberg in a Change of Command Ceremony hosted by Maj. Gen. Michael Berry, the Adjutant General.
During the ceremony and Danberg’s final formation, he was promoted to the State rank of Maj. Gen. and received a Legion of Merit, was inducted into the Order of the Griffin, and was presented his General Officer Flag. Maj. Gen. (ret)(DE) Danberg.
