MSG Immacula Pierre from Team SFL was in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico in late Arpil/early May 2023 connecting with military and veteran support groups, U.S. Army units, and local government officials to learn about military and veteran issues and challenges unique to these areas. While in St. Thomas, MSG Pierre met with numerous senior government and military officials, including the Hon. Albert Bryan Jr., Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands; MG Kodjo S. Knox-Limbacker, The Adjutant General of the Virgin Islands National Guard; Senator Novelle E. Francis, Jr., President of the Legislature of the U.S. Virgin Islands; Beresford F. Edwards, Civilian Aide to the Secretary of the Army for the Virgin Islands; and Patrick D. Ferrell, the Director of the U.S. Virgin Islands Office of Veterans Affairs (who very graciously helped coordinate the agenda for MSG Pierre’s visit). She also met with Virgin Islands American Legion leaders and had the opportunity to visit a local high school. During her stop in Puerto Rico, MSG Pierre visited the San Juan Military Entrance Processing Station and met with the command team.
