Maj. Gen. Brian Eifler presents Edwin Buck with an 11th Airborne Division shoulder sleeve insignia after the dedication ceremony of Perez Hall, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, June 5 2023, as part of the inaugural Angel Rendezvous Week. Buck was held as a prisoner of war at the age of seven during World War II, and was rescued by the 11th Airborne Division during operations on the Philippine Islands.
Perez Hall was named in honor of Pfc. Manuel Perez Jr., a Medal of Honor recipient, during the inaugural Angel Rendezvous Week. a week-long celebration of the long, storied history of the 11th, and the continued service, contributions and achievements of today’s Arctic Angels serving in one of the toughest climates on earth.
